VTT & Tokyo University to establish R&D partnership

- VTT and Tokyo University are to establish R&D partnership
for real-time operating systems and ubiquitous computing.
Professor Ken Sakamura, Jorma Lammasniemi and Tatu Koljonen signed
the Memorandum of Understanding between Sakamura Laboratory and VTT.
The memorandum states both parties common interests in cooperation
between research institutes on the fields
of Real-time Operating Systems and Ubiquitous Computing.
Professor Ken Sakamura is the creator of the real-time operating
system architecture TRON. Currently he leads the ubiquitous networking laboratory
(UNL), located in Tokyo as well as the T-Engine forum.
TRON operating system is most used in consumer electronics products
e.g. digital cameras, domestic appliances and processors used in cars.
T-Engine forum promotes the use and standardisation
of TRON based technologies.
